Terms of service

EFFECTIVE 1 SEPTEMBER 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and ZWAG AI Ltd (DIFC, UAE), the company behind Mātr, covering matrintelligence.com and the Translation Studio service. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. They are written to be read; if anything is unclear, ask us at hello@zwag.ai.

The service

Mātr improves AI translation by checking candidate outputs against structural profiles of the target language and correcting the result. Translation Studio is the web product built on that engine: an anonymous daily demo, and paid plans with metered usage, translation history, and related features.

The service is in an early-access phase. Sign-ups may be opened in waves, and features may change as the product matures. Where these terms and a separately signed agreement with us conflict, the signed agreement wins.

Your account

You sign in with your email address; there is no password. Anyone with access to your email inbox can access your account, so keep that inbox secure. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to purchase a plan.

Accounts are for you or your organisation. Do not create accounts to collect extra free trials or share one subscription across people the plan is not meant for.

Plans, quotas, and fair use

Each plan includes a monthly usage allowance measured in source characters, per-request size limits, and rate limits, as described on the pricing page. Deep candidate search draws on the allowance at twice the standard rate, as shown in the product. Unused allowance does not carry over between periods.

Quotas exist so pricing can stay simple; attempting to bypass metering, rate limits, or plan restrictions is a breach of these terms.

Payment

Paid plans are billed through Stripe in US dollars and renew automatically. Prices may not include taxes that apply where you live. Billing, cancellation, and refunds are governed by the refunds and cancellations policy, which is part of these terms.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to:

(a) break the law or infringe others' rights, including submitting content you have no right to process; (b) probe, overload, or disrupt the service, or bypass its security, metering, or access controls; (c) resell, sublicense, or offer the service to third parties as your own without our written agreement; (d) build a competing dataset or model by systematically extracting outputs; or (e) misrepresent machine-translated output as certified human translation.

Your content

The text you submit is yours. You grant us the limited licence needed to operate the service: processing your text through our correction pipeline (including the third-party AI models it uses), storing your history and glossary for you, and keeping the usage records billing requires. That is the whole licence; we do not use your text to train models, ours or anyone else's, and we do not publish or sell it.

Translated output belongs to you to the fullest extent the law allows. We claim no rights over it.

AI output

Translations are produced by AI systems and corrected by statistical methods. They can be wrong, and structural correction reduces but does not eliminate errors. Review output with a qualified human before relying on it for anything where a mistranslation could cause harm: legal, medical, safety critical, or high-stakes financial use.

Our intellectual property

The service, the site, the Mātr name and brand, the software, and the language profile framework are ours or our licensors'. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while your account is in good standing, and no other rights.

Community contributions

If you submit language knowledge through the contribution platform (applications, greetings, or linguistic data), you confirm it is yours to share and grant us the right to review, moderate, and use it to improve language coverage, with attribution where the platform provides for it. Specific contribution programmes may have their own additional terms.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available but do not promise uninterrupted operation, and maintenance windows happen. We may add, change, or retire features; if a change materially reduces what a paid plan includes, we will tell you before it takes effect, and the refunds policy covers you if we fail to deliver the service you paid for.

Suspension and ending the agreement

You can stop using the service at any time; cancelling a paid plan works as described in the refunds policy, and you can ask us to delete your account entirely.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, abuses the service, or creates risk for other users, with notice where practical. If we close your account without cause while you have paid time remaining, we refund the unused portion.

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties beyond what these terms state or the law requires.

To the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, revenue, or data; and our total liability for claims connected to the service is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, or limits any non-waivable consumer rights in your country.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), and disputes belong to the DIFC courts, except where the consumer protection law of your country of residence gives you the right to a different forum.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. For material changes we will notify account holders by email or in the product before the new terms take effect; continuing to use the service after that date means you accept them. The effective date above always reflects the current version.
