We started Mātr because we kept watching people we love get talked over by machines that were fluent in the wrong grammar for their language. We are not linguists by training, but we grew up code switching between languages that do not share a single structural assumption, and we noticed early how much gets quietly dropped when a model just guesses. This company exists because we wanted that guessing to stop, and because we believe every language deserves infrastructure built for its own structure, not a translation of someone else's.

Mātr started with a simple observation. Language models were getting dramatically better at sounding natural in hundreds of languages, and barely better at being correct in most of them.

The reason is architectural. Grammar is not universal, and a model trained overwhelmingly on a handful of languages carries their structure into every other one it speaks. More data makes it more fluent. It does not make it more correct.

So we built the missing piece: a framework that describes what each language structurally requires, measures how far it sits from the structure models assume, and corrects the output at the moment it is generated. It works above any model, and it never needs retraining.
